Doug consulted with kCura from April 2013 until June 2014, serving as interim CIO to update and revitalize the internal IT functions within the company, including IT team recruitment.  He led organizational change to develop and implement technology and project management in support of software engineering, customer service, sales & marketing and other areas of the business.  kCura is a "Leader" in Gartner's E-Discovery Magic Quadrant and is the developer of e-discovery software Relativity, used by law firms and corporate law departments worldwide.


Foley & Lardner, CIO.  1999 - 2012

Doug was Chief Information Services Officer & CIO of Foley & Lardner LLP for thirteen years and was CIO since joining the firm in 1999.  As Chief Information Services Officer he had overall responsibility for the firm's technology, knowledge management and library services functions.  He played a key role in focusing Foley's technology capabilities on value-added services to the firm's clients.  In recognition of Foley's creative technology strategies, Foley was honored eight of eleven years by CIO magazine as one of the CIO-100, and by InformationWeek magazine as a top technology innovator and one of the InformationWeek 500 for the last six years of his tenure.  Foley was also honored by CIO magazine judges as the winner of the Enterprise Value Award, the only law firm to win this significant award.

Doug Caddell is a veteran CIO, legal industry technologist and internationally recognized speaker and writer on law firm and law department technology, and its best use.  He has over 30 years experience in finance, operations and management, and in leading the technology efforts of a variety of organizations, including mid-sized and large law firms and a governmental law department.  He is a recognized pioneer in Cloud and BYOD computing.  Mr. Caddell has a degree in Management Information Systems, and also Accounting, from the University of Arizona.  He has held professional certifications as a CPA and Certified Information Systems Auditor, and is a current Six Sigma/LEAN Greenbelt and Information Governance Professional (IGP), and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
